From his first piano lessons with his grandmother to performing on major stages across the country, Josh has built a musical journey rooted in passion, dedication, and versatility. He began formal piano training at age six and quickly developed a love for music that expanded into drums and guitar by age ten. While proficient in multiple instruments, guitar ultimately became his true passion and creative voice.
Over the years, he has honed his craft through private instruction, live performance, studio recording, and collaborative projects. He spent three years performing with School of Rock and was a founding member of the band SoundBox, where he performed for nearly three years. Together, the band built a strong following on TikTok, released multiple original songs across streaming platforms, and performed at notable events including the Cooper-Young Festival, Memphis Grizzlies games, SXSW, the Mid-South Fair, and Porchfest.
His performances with the O’Keefe Music Foundation have also gained significant recognition online, including the video “Fade Into You,” which has earned more than one million views, along with several featured drum and guitar performances.
As a member of his school’s contemporary music ensemble, Soundscape, he has performed at prestigious venues and events including Carnegie Hall, Universal Studios Orlando, the Delta Fair, and performances in Italy. He was also selected to participate in the Tennessee All-West Jazz Band as a drummer.
Continuing to pursue excellence in music performance and production, he attended summer programs at Berklee College of Music and was selected for GRAMMY Camp. His recording experience includes sessions at Round Table Recording Company, Young Avenue Sound, and FAME Recording Studios.
With experience spanning live performance, songwriting, studio recording, and multiple instruments, Josh continues to grow as a musician and performer, bringing energy, creativity, and authenticity to every project he takes on.
